Winter activities
With the Plan de Corones, ski resort number 1 in South Tyrol and 120 kilometers of slopes, no wishes are left unfulfilled. Also away from the ski slopes you are offered a variety of leisure and sports opportunities, such as:
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING
The Pustertal valley has established itself as a true cross-country skiing mecca - hundreds of kilometers of slopes wind their way across the valley, some sunny and pleasant on the valley floor, while others are at higher altitudes and have strenuous inclines. Here both the beginner and the cross-country skiing full professional will find terrain to train.
TOBOGGAN
A comfortable ascent, enjoying the winter sun, a hot tea in the hut and a racy toboggan run at the end. The Pustertal offers numerous toboggan runs for every taste
ICE RUNNING
Thanks to the cool winters, the Kronplatz vacation region can boast a surprisingly large selection of ice rinks. If you can't get enough of Pustertal's winter scenery, the natural ice rinks are the best place to be. In addition, every community in the region has its own ice rink. The most athletic ice rinks are the ice ring in Reischach, the artificial ice rink in Welsberg and the ice stadium in Bruneck.
SNOWSHOEING
A special kind of nature experience is snowshoeing. Trudging through the fresh snow with big steps, the flakes trickling from the trees, the sun beaming in your face, the summit within reach and the view seeming limitless. You don't know what that feels like? Then it's high time to make this unforgettable experience in Pustertal!
The Pustertal Valley is a true paradise for ski tourers and offers promising destinations for all skill levels.
The most popular areas for ski touring in South Tyrol's Pustertal are the Tauferer Ahrntal, the Gsieser Tal, the Hochpustertal and the Pragser Tal in the midst of the Pragser Dolomites. In East Tyrol, the Villgratental and the Tyrolean Gailtal/Lesachtal are waiting for ski tourers.
